About my accepted piece:
Fish Three
Mixed Media
For the Walk on the Wild Side juried show, I created this new mixed media piece. Materials I used were handmade papers, acrylic paint, leaf printing and thread. I have depicted fish in many different media (watercolor, acrylics, collage) and what I love about this piece is the translucent handmade papers really mimic the look of fish underwater. I find fish very peaceful and mesmerizing to watch, and they make me happy. I decided that there would probably be lots of dogs and cats entered into this show, so wanted to tackle a different subject. I am pleased to support both the Arlington Artists Alliance and the Animal Welfare League in this fundraising show... they are both great local non-profits.
